Chardonnay

Lauded for its suppleness, its hardiness and ease of growth, chardonnay is beloved equally by those that produce it and those that consume it. Be it rich and buttery, or unoaked and minerally, the flexibility of chardonnay is one of its most enduring characteristics and goes a long way in explaining why it makes up half of Australia’s white wine plantings. A part of chardonnay’s appeal is also the ease with which it can be paired with food and enjoyed across seasons: try matching different styles to seafood, mushrooms, poultry and pork, and heartier dishes laced with butter or cream.
