Seven months after the sudden passing of Peter Fraser, celebrated McLaren Vale winery Yangarra Estate has announced its new winemaking and viticulture team.
Guillaume Camougrand has been named head of winemaking and viticulture, and Shelley Torresan has been promoted to senior winemaker. Cliff Wickman, who took over from Michael Lane in 2025 after six years at Carricks in Central Otago, will continue as vineyard manager.
Shelley Torresan and Guillaume Camougrand will lead winemaking at Yangarra Estate.
All three appointments included in the announcement come from within the Yangarra business – compelling evidence that the winery’s owners, Jackson Family Wines, are looking to stay, rather than divert from, the course set by Pete during his 25 years at the estate.
"Yangarra has always been defined by the people behind it,” Barbara Banke, chairman and proprietor of Jackson Family Wines, says. “Guillaume, Shelley, and Cliff, together with the entire Yangarra team, embody the dedication, craftsmanship, and philosophy that Peter Fraser helped build over so many years.”
Prior to joining Yangarra in 2014, Guillaume had worked across respected estates in his native France, including eight years at Domaine Bellegarde in Jurançon, followed by vintages in Sonoma, California, and the Hunter Valley. He was made assistant winemaker in 2017.

Shelley spent nine years at neighbouring McLaren Vale winery Haselgrove Wines. After a handful of vintages in the Northern Rhône and California, she joined Yangarra Estate as winemaker in 2008.
“We are proud of this team and confident they will continue to build on Yangarra's remarkable reputation in the years ahead," Barbara adds.
