Sue HodderWynns Coonawarra Estate's senior winemaker, Sue Hodder.

"This year’s Wynnsday wines exemplify the Wynns Coonawarra Estate medium bodied ageworthy style. In Coonawarra, the 2022 vintage was a high-quality year without any obvious climate change impacts, so this presented a fabulous opportunity for Sarah, Chris and me to truly bring our creative winemaking style and flair to the fore," says senior winemaker Sue Hodder.

"The 2024 Wynnsday Collection truly is one of the best range of wines that we have released in my time at Wynns. In over three decades at Wynns, I have seen some very fine wines produced, but this year’s release wines are well and truly amongst that group."

2021 Wynns Coonawarra Estate Messenger Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra

2021 Wynns Coonawarra Estate Messenger Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra

15 months in new and seasoned French oak hogsheads (16% new). A basket of collected blackberries and thistle. Fresh prune plums and bilberry. Allspice, clove and black peppercorn. Turned earth, granite and coal. Morello mushroom and undergrowth. There is juniper and wisps of lavender. Pinpoint acidity and laser focus to this cabernet. It drives seamlessly across the palate and pulls at the heartstrings. A stunning drink now and in 15 to 20 years. – Shanteh Wale, Halliday Wine Companion, 96 points

Average vine age 57 years; 10 months in new and seasoned French oak barrels. Blueberries, lingonberries and blackberry leaf. Cherry chocolate and black peppercorns. Fruit weight sits in the front middle palate with puckering acidity and lovely dry tannins, that ebb and flow. A deep brooding cedar and cinnamon note. Full of flavour and will age well. – Shanteh Wale, Halliday Wine Companion, 93 points

2022 Wynns Coonawarra Estate Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra

2022 Wynns Coonawarra Estate Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra

21 days on skins and matured for 16 months in new and seasoned French oak hogsheads and barriques. The colour is a deeply pigmented magenta. The purity of just-ripe, immaculate blackberries, currants and plums is astounding. It’s almost stark in its pureness of fruit and restraint of oak additions. Elongated tannins and lingering acidity with Nyon olive brine, nutmeg and the slightest touch of fresh picked bay leaf. Confident and completely unsullied. Stunning now and will only improve with age. This is a testament to scintillating fruit and the winemaker’s appreciation of it. – Shanteh Wale, Halliday Wine Companion, 96 points

RRP $45 | Drink to 2038

2022 Wynns Coonawarra Estate V&A Lane Shiraz, Coonawarra

2022 Wynns Coonawarra Estate V&A Lane Shiraz, Coonawarra

Ten months in seasoned French oak (between one and eight years old). Violets, wild boysenberry and rosella florals. Prune plums, mulberry tart and cherry stone. Sumac and black sesame seed. Electric in its vibrant energy and freshness. A veil of fine tannins across the palate is followed by a sappy succulence and snap of acidity. This has the zest and energy of a cool-climate style. – Shanteh Wale, Halliday Wine Companion, 95 points

RRP $60 | Drink to 2033

2022 Wynns Coonawarra Estate V&A Lane Cabernet Shiraz, Coonawarra

2022 Wynns Coonawarra Estate V&A Lane Cabernet Shiraz, Coonawarra

Cabernet and shiraz were harvested on the same day and co-fermented; 11 months in new and seasoned French oak barrels. Black cherry, cranberry and tulip. Juiced pomegranates, mulberry and plum. Dark chocolate shavings and new leather. A full and satisfying wine that achieves the balance of a great cab shiraz blend but with facets of greatness intertwined. The chew of grape tannins and rolling waves of acidity make for a glass that's hard to put down. – Shanteh Wale, Halliday Wine Companion, 95 points

RRP $60 | Drink to 2030
