Torrent

Western Australia | Swan Valley

Our Review

Grower-turned-producer Torrent Wines is owned by the 3rd-generation d’Angelo family in the Swan Valley. Mark d’Angelo (son of Guerino who originally bought land in the Swan Valley in the ‘50s) runs the day-to-day operations, while son Rino is the winemaker (previously at Sittella under Colby Quirk and Yuri Berns). Established in 1963, Torrent has been bottling wines under its own label since 1978. The Swan Valley vineyard is planted to vermentino, chenin blanc, shiraz, grenache and cabernet sauvignon. Pinot noir is sourced from Manjimup. The wines are currently sold exclusively in WA. -ERIN LARKIN
