Platypus Lane Wines

Platypus Lane, with a core of 2.5ha of chardonnay, shiraz and muscat, gained much publicity for owner Ian Gibson when its Shiraz won the inaugural John Gladstones Trophy at the Qantas WA Wine Show for the wine showing greatest regional and varietal typicity. Much of the credit can no doubt go to winemaker Brenden Smith, who handles significant quantities of grapes brought in from other producers as well as from the core vineyards.
