Idée Fixe

Western Australia | Margaret River

Our Review

The first vintage of Idée Fixe (meaning ‘fixation’) was released in ’20. Paul Holmes a Court (owner of Vasse Felix) purchased a 35ha plot of land in Karridale in ’10, planting an array of chardonnay clones suited to sparkling base, alongside a small plot of pinot noir. In ’12, Vasse Felix released a cellar door-only Blanc de Blanc, the genesis of Idée Fixe. Between ’16–’19 the Watershed vineyards were purchased for Vasse Felix, and the buildings and winery for Idée Fixe. A state-of-the-art overhaul of all aspects of the property is underway – the vineyards have been largely regrafted and the winery equipment replaced with new high-spec facilities for sparkling winemaking. Until a cellar door is built, wines can be tasted at Vasse Felix. Exports to UK, Hong Kong, NZ and Singapore. -ERIN LARKIN
