Batista is in fact the baptismal name of owner Bob Peruch, a pinot noir devotee who followed in his father?s footsteps, planting 1ha of pinot noir in 1993. The well-drained soils are of quartz and ironstone gravel; yields are restricted. -JAMES HALLIDAY
