What started as a weekend hobby for Trevor and Carmel Hutchinson has grown into a winery, cellar door, picnic and barbecue facilities, and function centre for summer concerts and events. They have 2.5ha of shiraz, chardonnay and chenin blanc, which they tend by hand from pruning, to shoot and leaf thinning, netting and ultimately picking. Most of the wines are unwooded, including one of two Shirazs. -JAMES HALLIDAY
