Our Review
5 Maddens Lane has been developed over a number of years. Four ha of cabernet sauvignon were planted between 1988 and '97, and the 2ha of sauvignon blanc were planted in '87. Owner Marc de Cure lives in Sydney, and has secured the services of up-and-coming winemaker Mac Forbes as contract maker, and John Evans of Yering Station as vineyard manager. However, de Cure has his own qualifications, with a Master of Wine Quality (with distinction) from the University of Western Sydney. -JAMES HALLIDAY
