Our Review

Fowles Wine is the chief flagbearer of the Strathbogie Ranges region. It’s a family-owned winery led by Matt Fowles, its vineyards centred around riesling, chardonnay, shiraz and cabernet sauvignon but with a growing emphasis on pinot noir, sangiovese, arneis, vermentino, sauvignon blanc, mourvèdre, merlot and pinot gris. A great deal of investment has gone into the entire operation over the past decade or more, including the construction of a beautiful new cellar door and restaurant. But at heart, this remains a ground-up operation, soil to table, farm to bottle. -CAMPBELL MATTINSON

Cellar Door


Fowles Cellar Door is open everyday from 9am to 5pm and combines wonderful guided wine tastings and an impressive view of the surrounding Strathbogie Ranges. Discover the story behind each drop and learn about the ancient secrets that give our wines their distinct flavor. There are always limited cellar door releases around, as well as samples from our museum collection. Bookings are recommended.

A new addition to our outdoor offering - The Garden Bar. This is a space where all you need to do is bask in the sunshine, enjoy the live music and relax with your family and friends. Our team has prepared a lovely grazing menu, some gourmet snacks and full array of drinks for you to enjoy. We also have a frozen rosé option – Frosé! What better way to enjoy a warm afternoon than with this refreshingly delicious blend of summer berries and crisp citrus?! Please note that our Garden Bar is a fair weather space, open on weekends only and with no bookings required. If the sun is shining, please choose a table or hire one of our picnic rugs and head up to the bar for food and drinks. For your convenience, bathrooms are located at the back of the Garden Bar.

Fowles Restaurant is open for Breakfast and Lunch, 7 days a week. We offer a unique farm-to-table dining experience, showcasing sustainable and authentic food brought to life in our restaurant and prepared with love. Our chefs harvest bountiful ingredients from our property and regional producers and prepare simple but beautiful dishes for guests to savour on-site. Every dish on our menu has been created to perfectly match a Fowles Wine.
