Our Review
The small vineyard, with the titillating title of The Wicked Virgin, has been established by John and Laurel Nowacki, with 3ha of shiraz and 1ha of durif. Calico Town is a reference to the gold rush days when numerous miners lived in canvas tents, and the property still has mine shafts and a poppet head that stands guard over the cellar door and olive grove. -JAMES HALLIDAY
