Camfield Family Wines

Victoria | Pyrenees

Our Review

The Camfield family first settled in the Pyrenees in the mid 1880s on the periphery of the Gold Rush. In 1910 the family moved to Moonambel and sheep farming. Since that time various branches of the family have moved to other places and other occupations, but when Ross Camfield purchased the land for the Camfield Family Vineyard, it was directly across the road from the property owned by the family in 1910. In 2003 they planted 21ha of vineyard (10ha shiraz, 6ha sangiovese, 5ha pinot gris). Right from the time the first wine was made, the focus was on exports. To assist their Chinese distribution partners, the business has Chinese- speaking relationship managers. Exports to the US, Vietnam and China. -JAMES HALLIDAY
