Our Review
After 20 successful years in hospitality operating several cafes and restaurants (including one of Melbourne’s 1st gastropubs in the early 1990s), brothers Michael and Tony Lee planted their 1st vineyard in ’97 at Merricks North. The venture takes its name from the tale of 2 fox hunters in the ’30s hanging the results of their day’s shooting in opposite branches of an ancient eucalypt, using the tree as their scorecard. Three of Foxey’s vineyards are certified organic, as is the winery. There is a 2nd cellar door at the Morning Sun vineyard in Main Ridge, open Thurs–Sun 11–5. -JAMES HALLIDAY
