Our Review
Paramoor is the retirement venture of Will Fraser, formerly managing director of Kodak Australasia. To be strictly correct, he is Dr William Fraser, armed with a PhD in chemistry from Adelaide University. Much later he added a diploma of wine technology from the University of Melbourne (Dookie campus). Paramoor is set on 17ha of beautiful country not far from Hanging Rock; it was originally a Clydesdale horse farm, with a magnificent heritage-style barn now used for cellar door sales and functions. Will has planted 0.5ha each of pinot noir, pinot gris and riesling, and leases 2.6ha of vines in the lower Goulburn Valley (shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, merlot). He also receives regular supplies of pinot noir and chardonnay from another Macedon Ranges vineyard owned by friends. -JAMES HALLIDAY
