Our Review
Leo and Isobel Gold planted 2ha of cabernet sauvignon and 0.8ha of chardonnay in the spring of 1998, leading to the first vintage in '01. The winemaking techniques are traditional: small vat fermentation, minimum time in oak and minimal filtration. The Pinot Noir comes from the Quarry Vineyard at Waurn Ponds, the Shiraz from Sutherlands Creek Vineyard. -JAMES HALLIDAY
