Meander Valley Vineyard

Our Review

Instead of the sea- or tree-change sought by many in the wake of Covid-19 lockdowns, Bronya and Jade Nicholls and their two young kids moved to the Meander Valley in Tasmania’s Cradle Coast region to pursue a vine-change. They bought the 25yo Three Willows Vineyard in ’21; a boutique, 2ha site planted to chardonnay, pinot gris, pinot noir, and baco noir – a cold-hardy French/American hybrid that produces rich, dark red wines with high acidity. Using only estate-grown fruit, winemaker Andrew Gaman crafts straight varietal wines, rosé, three sparkling wines (traditional, rosé, and pinot noir), and an apple cider. In ’24, Bron and Jade reopened their renovated cellar door, offering wood-fired pizzas, platters and live music on weekends. -ANNA WEBSTER
