Our Review
The good news about Winstead is the quality of its generous and rich Pinot Noirs, notable for the abundance of their fruit flavour without any sacrifice of varietal character. In the 2012 Pinot Noir class at the Tasmanian Wine Show '16 only two gold medals were awarded, Winstead Lot 7 top of the class, edging out the other gold, Winstead Lot 13. The bad news is that production is so limited, with only 1.7ha of pinot noir, 0.7ha sauvignon blanc, 0.5ha riesling and 0.1ha of merlot being tended by fly fishing devotee Neil Snare and wife Julieanne. -JAMES HALLIDAY
