Richard Meyman had accumulated many years in the wine trade as grower, owner and manager before returning to Tasmania to resurrect and run the important Nocton Park vineyard in the Richmond/Coal River area. Few would dispute the primacy of pinot noir as Tasmania's finest grape variety, and its multifaceted riesling is in the same quality league. So it is that Richard has chosen those two varieties, and put them in the hands of Tasmania's leading contract winemaker. -JAMES HALLIDAY
