Frogmore Creek

Tasmania | Southern Tasmania

Our Review

Frogmore Creek has grown substantially over time, first establishing its own organically managed vineyard (later sold to Hill-Smith Family Vineyards), and thereafter by a series of acquisitions. First was the purchase of the Hood/Wellington Wines business; next was the purchase of the large Roslyn Vineyard near Campania; and then (in Oct '10) the acquisition of Meadowbank Estate – not to be confused with Meadowbank Wines, Derwent Valley – where the cellar door is now located. In ’18, Frogmore Creek opened The Lounge at MAC01, an urban cellar door/restaurant on Hobart’s waterfront, catering to those without the means or motivation to trek out to Cambridge. Chief winemaker Alain Rousseau has clocked up 20 years with the brand, while vineyard manager Danny Belbin is a 5th generation farmer from the Coal River Valley. -HALLIDAY TEAM
