Sixty Eight Roses

Named for the roses dotting the property Theodora and George Koutouzis have farmed since the 1970s. Originally from Greece, they met in Australia, raised a family of 4 and the Berri farm, rich with rows of orchards of apricots, pears and plums, and grapevines. Their son John is behind the Sixty Eight Roses wine label, which began in earnest in 2020 with the inaugural release of a 2019 syrah off vines planted by his parents, 48 years ago. He’s dreaming big. Plantings of alternative varieties are underway and certified organics is part of the story. -JANE FAULKNER
