Dominic Wines

South Australia | Riverland

Our Review

Third-generation vignerons and producers, the Dominic family estate is based at Berri in South Australia’s Riverland. Post-WWII they planted a simple block with rows of shiraz, gordo and mourvèdre, supplying to G Gramp and Son (forerunners to Orlando). The list of varieties expanded with chardonnay and cabernet, while vineyard methods modernised as well. Son Brian took over the Riverland vineyards in 1992, further expanding until now the family sources fruit from both their own and grower vineyards in the region as well as extending their reach to more than 40 growers from Langhorne Creek, Adelaide Hills and Coonawarra. The portfolio includes Black Label, Evolution, Henry and Lucas and Boundary Station from Australia, and Edith Sounds from NZ. -TONY LOVE
