Whitechapel Wines

South Australia | Barossa Valley

Our Review

The Colovic family, headed by Adelaide insolvency lawyer David Colovic, purchased the small, run-down Whitechapel property at Lyndoch in 1997 as a retirement occupation for Tom Colovic. The idea was to renovate the building, but instead most of the time was spent establishing the immaculately tended 4.5ha shiraz vineyard. The grapes were initially sold to another Barossa winemaker, but since 2001 small batches of the grapes have been made for the Whitechapel label. The name Tom's Lot for the wine was almost inevitable. -JAMES HALLIDAY
