Lambert Estate

South Australia | Barossa Valley

Our Review

James (Jim) and Pamela Lambert are the owners of the recently renamed Lambert Estate (previously Stanley Lambert Wines), with son Kirk and wife Vanessa now winemakers. Like his parents, Kirk was born in Wisconsin and followed his parents' footsteps to the University of Wisconsin. Graduating as a mechanical engineer, he worked for several years for General Electric but decided to move to Australia and, after working in the vineyard and winery for some years, obtained his Masters degree in Oenology from the University of Adelaide. The lion's share of the 20ha vineyard is planted to shiraz (7.2ha) and cabernet sauvignon (6,8ha), with lesser plantings of merlot, chardonnay, durif, tempranillo, zinfandel, tannat, malbec, mataro and viognier. A futuristic winery and cellar door was opened in May 2015. Exports to the US, Canada, Germany, China and other major markets. -JAMES HALLIDAY
