Our Review
This family-owned business acquired its first vineyard - John's Block - 4 years ago. The winery and cellar door were built on this property, and further acquisitions have resulted in the present portfolio of 11ha shiraz, 9ha cabernet sauvignon and 2ha merlot. The wines submitted for this edition of the Companion were variously sourced from McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, Clare Valley and Langhorne Creek, shiraz the focus. They were all from '16 and '17, nothing more recent. Curiously, a Clare Valley Merlot is branded Squid Ink. Exports to Vietnam. -JAMES HALLIDAY
