Heidenreich Estate

South Australia | Barossa Valley

Our Review

The Heidenreich family arrived in the Barossa in 1857, with successive generations growing grapes ever since. It is now owned and run by Noel and Cheryl Heidenreich who, having changed the vineyard plantings and done much work on the soil, were content to sell the grapes (from three different sites: shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, viognier and chardonnay) until 1998, when they crushed a tonne in total of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. Production has since soared; much is exported to San Diego (US), and a little sold locally, the remainder exported to Hong Kong. -JAMES HALLIDAY
