Shining Rock Vineyard

Agronomist Darren Arney and psychologist wife Natalie Worth had the opportunity to purchase the Shining Rock Vineyard from Lion Nathan in 2012. It had been established by Petaluma in ’00 and until ’15 the grapes were sold to various premium wineries in the Adelaide Hills. Darren graduated from Roseworthy Agricultural College in the late 1980s and saw the vineyard as the opportunity of a lifetime to produce top-quality grapes from a very special vineyard. They hit the ground running with the inaugural vintage of ’15 made by Peter Leske (Revenir), but since ’16 the wines have been made by Con Moshos in conjunction with Darren. It hardly need be said that the wines reflect the expertise of those involved, with the eminence grise of Brian Croser in the background. -JAMES HALLIDAY
