Our Review

Andrew Smythe and family have planted a little under 4ha of chardonnay, and 0.7ha of the rare Italian grape lagrein. Plantings began in 2001, and supplemented by chardonnay from 18-year-old vines on a nearby vineyard, and shiraz from 25-year-old vines near Murchison in the Goulburn Valley. Plans are in place to expand the vineyard to 18 ha, with varieties including tempranillo and prosecco as well as more mainstream grapes being considered. -JAMES HALLIDAY
