Pyramid Valley

One of New Zealand's great vineyard sites, Pyramid Valley was established in '00 after Mike and Claudia Elze Weersing travelled the world for 15 years, taking soil samples and sending them for analysis in France before settling and establishing their beautiful property just outside Waikari in North Canterbury. Here, they quickly established a reputation for their otherworldly wines and custodianship of their land through biodynamic farming, producing some of NZ’s most profound wines. In '18, Mike and Claudia sold their property to Steve Smith and Brian Sheth. They brought in estate manager and winemaker Huw Kinch and I can happily report that they are doing a sterling job of carrying on the visionary work of the Weersings. Stellar wines. -DAVE BROOKES
