Decibel Wines

From the streets of Philadelphia to the wide-open space of Hawkes Bay. Former band manager Daniel Brennen credits his move to NZ in 2008 as the vessel of personal and professional opportunity. Decibel Wines – established in 2009 – was born of his attraction to the open sky and the social outlet of getting to know and work with local growers. Today, the brand has evolved to produce a range of wines in several styles, with fun and community as the key messages. Albarino, sauvignon blanc, pinot noir, syrah, chardonnay and merlot are each cornerstones, but perhaps none more so than malbec. Daniel sends the wines home to his parents’ gastropub in Philadelphia, McCrossens Tavern, on a regular basis for loyal locals to reach consensus on new releases. -KATRINA BUTLER
