Our Review
From a gentleman's handshake agreement between 4 local growers in the early '90s to the Bannockburn juggernaut of today, Mt Difficulty traversed many waters before becoming one of the region's most important and recognisable brands. The wines are made under the Bannockburn series, Growers Series (a label celebrating subregional expression) and the Single Vineyard series. Pinot noir is undoubtedly the star, and alongside the usual suspects of the region – chardonnay, pinot gris, sauvignon blanc – they also experiment with syrah and chenin blanc. The Estate also boasts a restaurant, and the view from the dining space is as much a feast for the senses as the menu. -KATRINA BUTLER
