De Bortoli (Hunter Valley)

De Bortoli extended its wine empire in 2002 with the purchase of the former Wilderness Estate, giving it an immediate and significant presence in the Hunter Valley courtesy of the 26ha of established vineyards, including semillon vines over 40 years old. The subsequent purchase of the adjoining 40ha property increased the size of the business. The intention is to convert the vineyards to biological farming practices, with composting and mulching already used to reduce the need for irrigation. Exports to all major markets. -JAMES HALLIDAY
