The list that follows forms part of James Halliday’s 2019 Top 100.
“Unsurprisingly, eight chardonnays led this group, but six rieslings and four semillons also demanded inclusion, a single sauvignon blanc and gruner veltliner making up the field. In turn, Margaret River (three), Tasmania and the Yarra Valley (two each) supplied seven of the field. The tsunami of near misses underlines the extremely high quality of this group.”
The following wines were chosen from a total of 226 submitted.
