2022 Varietal Winners

Top Rated: Rosé

By The Tasting Team
Food-friendly, refreshing and increasingly sophisticated, Australian rosé is deserving of the attention of us all. And, it must be said, far more so than cheap imports. The diversity has never been more compelling. Our eight shortlisted finalists for Rosé of the Year hail from eight different regions and at least six varieties, testimony to the grand spectrum of styles that make this category so exciting. The winner is a masterfully executed and thrilling take on nebbiolo from an iconic site in the Adelaide Hills!

2020 La Prova Nebbiolo Rosatorose

Blockquote Section Icon
Takes an award-winning style centred around shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and sangiovese and adds splashes of viognier and fiano. The white grapes bring an extra layer of delicate aromatics and body weight to one impressive rosé. Pretty tea-rose hues. Orange blossom, musk, raspberry, cherry, earth and savoury influences wind and roll their way across this stylish wine. Texture and clean acid drive in sync. What a ripper! – Jeni Port
