Timboon Railway Shed Distillery is typical of Australia's many micro-distilleries in regional areas, bottling powerful, oak-forward single malts in very small quantities. One of the first whisky distilleries to open on the mainland in the modern era, Timboon's tiny operation was established in '07 and is housed in a historic railway shed in Victoria's high country. It's the sort of place you'd stop off for a hot choccy and a bowl of chips during a country hike. But what you'll find to go along with your toastie is a genuine obsession with Australian spirits – its bar sports a huge array of Australian-made products, proving its dedication to the cause goes way beyond its own produce. And while the first Timboon whiskies I tried 10 years ago were raw and unbalanced, this little distillery that could has real staying power, continuing to improve and evolve while staying true to its unassuming roots and a classic, punchy style of fortified-wine cask whisky that's become instantly recognisable as Australian. -FRED SIGGINS

With limited seating for each sitting, bookings are requested via phone. Our maximum booking size is 10 persons. We do not cater for group lunch bookings except on our Drams of Wisdom Tour.
Our dishes pair wonderfully with any of our Spirit Tastings, Aussie Blocks, regional wines & ales or one of our house Cocktails.
