Bass & Flinders Distillery Noble Stranger Brandy
A blend of 100% chardonnay brandies matured between two and six years, Noble Stranger is the most approachably priced aged brandy in the Bass & Flinders stable, although still priced for sipping rather than mixing in cocktails. The beautiful nose of warm apricot danish, almond paste and creamy oak with a whiff of fresh rosemary is lovely in its gentle complexity. The fruit, oak and floral notes all dance well together for a wonderfully bright-smelling brandy not burdened by aggressive oak or soapy perfume. Sweet on the front of the palate with a well-balanced finish of both oak and fruit, this is a very tidy spirit, not at all like what you’d find in France, but just as well constructed. An entirely enjoyable and uniquely Australian drinking experience.
