Burdekin Distillery First Giru Cane Spirit The JP Edition

The Burdekin Distillers Editions are where distiller Jason Chan gets to flex his creative muscle, releasing spirits that he feels are pure expressions of what this brand can achieve without the commercial constraints of the core product range. This 'First Giru Cane Spirit – JP Edition' is, like their core Virgin Cane release, an unaged rum made from freshly pressed sugarcane juice. But you can almost think of this like a single vineyard expression, made exclusively from cane harvested in the Giru subregion of Burdekin. Named after one of the area's primary cane farmers, this JP Edition exhibits more fresh, sweet citrus notes than the Virgin Cane, with excellent clarity and integration. A creamy palate and a finish of green mango make this a highly enjoyable drinking experience and a great showcase of sugarcane terroir. That clarity also makes this a perfect rum for a daiquiri.
