Our Review
The Canberra Distillery is one of the many small, relatively young, multi-style craft distilleries that make up the majority of the modern Australian spirits industry. Founded by Tim Reardon, who spent much of his adult life engaged in high-level economic analysis as part of Canberra’s policy machine, but hung up his suit in favour of hands-on craft distilling, The Canberra Distillery produces everything from rum and single malt whisky to Earl Grey gin and butterscotch schnapps, all in small-format bottles and sold at hand-made prices. Located just a few minutes drive from the Canberra city centre, this small operation is well worth a visit for complimentary tastings and masterclasses right next to the stills when you get bored of museums and galleries on your next trip to the nation’s capital. -FRED SIGGINS
