The Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair is returning this November.

The Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair is returning in November. Hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the three-day fair will run from November 7–9, 2024 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The fair unites hundreds of international exhibitors who showcase a diverse range of drinks from around the world, as well as wine-related products and services.

This year, the fair will feature a wide range of liquor and beverage products, including Old World and New World wines, liquor and wines from Mainland China and Japan, as well as whiskies and other varieties. In addition to the beverages, the fair will promote the industry’s comprehensive development, such as wine education, wine investment, wine accessories, and equipment and services.

The Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair will continue with the hybrid model, ‘EXHIBITION+’, which integrates online-and-offline trade show formats. The online business matching platform, Click2Match, aims to help business to connect industry partners proactively. Exhibitors from the fair in 2023 welcomed the platform, which facilitated their meeting scheduling and record-keeping.

The fair will host a variety of events, including the debut of 'Sommeliers’ Picks' by renowned sommeliers, including Mr Reeze Choi, who was the runner-up at the 2023 A.S.I. Best Sommelier of the World Competition, alongside master sommelier Mr Arnaud Bardary, and sommelier Mr Carlito Chiu, on their favourite exhibits. A curated list will be introduced to facilitate the sourcing during the fair.

Wine tasting sessions and a masterclass by world-class master of wines or sommeliers will also be arranged during the three-day fair. Mr Reeze Choi will host the Sommelier's Forum, and will guide guests through the tasting class – 'Unveiling Asian wines through blind tasting'.

Master of Wine Debra Meiburg will lead the Wine Industry Conference, where the key topic will be 'Challenges for Beverage Industry: Winning over Gen Z and Millennials', while Jennifer Docherty MW will run a masterclass on food and wine pairings.

Last year, the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair saw over 7000 buyers in attendance from 49 countries and regions. While the fair is generally aimed at trade partners, a dedicated zone 'Wine Fiesta' will feature this year. The Fiesta Zone will open to public on November 9 and aims to engage local wine lovers.

If you're an Australian producer attending the fair, HKTDC recommends you bring your finest wines to show. "Every wine has a unique story behind it, the wine fair is a perfect opportunity to share those stories with attendees, while creating a deeper connection between the buyers and each brand."

And if you're thinking about attending, the fair is bustling with specialist knowledge. "Hong Kong has an abundance of experienced fine wine merchants with specialist knowledge and international wine trade experience. As a wine trading and distribution centre for the Asia Pacific region, Hong Kong wine merchants have also developed a strong network for re-export in different Southeast Asia regions."

Overall, this was a fruitful experience for us and we enjoyed it very much.” – Dr. Nick Hansen, Whisky Chasers Ltd, United Kingdom.

“Anyone who likes wine and spirits should go to the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair. Most of the alcohol sold by our business is exported to other countries and sold to importers.
