The Blue Metal Vineyard is situated on part of a cattle station at 790 m; the name comes from the rich red soil that overlies the cap of basalt rock. A wide range of grape varieties are planted, including sauvignon blanc, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, pinot gris, sangiovese and petit verdot. The wines have been very competently made.
