Shane and Loretta Breheny’s 20-ha property is situated predominantly on a gentle, north- facing slope, with cypress trees on the western and southern borders providing protection against the wind. Over 2001 and ’02, 9 ha of vines were planted, with pinot noir (5 ha) taking the lion’s share, followed by pinot gris (2 ha), shiraz (1.5 ha) and 0.25 ha each of chardonnay and sauvignon blanc. Viticulture is Loretta Breheny’s love; winemaking (and wine) is Shane’s.
