Owned by the O'Neil family, Cuttaway Hill is one of the largest vineyard properties in the Southern Highlands, with three vineyard sites. The original Cuttaway Hill vineyard at Mittagong has chardonnay, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and shiraz. The Allambie vineyard, on the light sandy loam soils of Ninety Acre Hill, is planted to sauvignon blanc, pinot gris and pinot noir. The third and newest vineyard, at Maytree, west of Moss Vale, in a relatively drier and warmer meso-climate, has cabernet sauvignon, merlot and pinot noir (and a small amount of chardonnay). The standard of both viticulture (headed by Mark Bourne) and contract winemaking is evident in the quality of the wines, not to mention the growth in production and sales. Exports to the UK, the US, Canada, Sweden and China.
