Riesling
The most exciting development for this wonderful (though still neglected by too many wine consumers, notwithstanding its outstanding value for money) has been the acceleration in the emergence of low alcohol (8°-10° vol) sweet rieslings with high-balancing acidity. These wines take those of the Mosel, Germany as their model, which are themselves gaining a significantly wider market in Australia. This does not mean the traditional cool-grown, continental climate rieslings are under attack; they are not.
